E: 23/11 - Win one of thirty chocolate advent calendars

http://www.coopcompetition.co.uk/start-counting-down-to-christmas/

Not one of their best comps I don't think, but worth an enter I guess.

Good luck guys, I think the answer is 24? Could someone confirm.

  • i found this so yes i think it is 24
Advent calendars begin on December 1, regardless of when Advent begins, which can be as early as November 27 and as late as December 3. Many take the form of a large rectangular card with "windows" of which there are usually 24: one for each day of December leading up to Christmas Day

An advent calendar is a poster or card with twenty-four
    small doors..

They say "modern day countdown calendar" though, and much to my disapproval I've seen calendars in the likes of Tesco that have 25 chocolates in and are billed as "countdown calendars" rather than using the word Advent. I wonder if that's what they're getting at here??
Certainly any proper Advent calendar should only have 24 doors, but with them saying modern, I'm not sure...
  • Ooh I put 25 without thinking! Whoops

Seems a quick Google around shows 24 for a traditional Advent calendar and 25 for a "countdown" to Christmas calendar!
Confusing, but I'm going with 25 as they have said "a modern day advent countdown calendar".
