Solicitors Searches

So I am now in the position where an offer was accepted for a house that I want to buy.

HSBC have everything they need now. Valuation is complete, mortgage offer is with them and all they need now is the certificate of deeds (?) from my solicitor.

Last week I Instructed them to do the searches and did a faster payments transfer which they confired that they received.

There is no chain on either side.

My question is, how fast can they really move?

I don't have to be in by any certain date but I am paying monthly for storage and having that as well as a mortgage is going to be costly.

Hi

If you check on your local council website it should give you a rough idea of how long. however my council say a turnaround of 5 days but it's been two weeks now.

Many people say this is when things get held up.

Fwiw, Im in the process of selling my property and the buyers searches were back within the week... Hope that helps.

Mine have been a week now not back yet x

Our water and environmental searches came back within a few days. The local authority and coal mining search have taken about a week and a half.
