Where's my car kept?
Or rather it's my daughter's car which I'm trying to get insurance quotes for. She is a nurse at a public hospital and works permanent nights, 4 on and 4 off. By including holidays it probably works out at just over 50% of the time the car is kept at home overnight.
Do I take the worst case scenario as it being kept at home in the day and an unsecured public car park at night? The comparison sites then only bring up a couple of companies, which are around double the price as being kept at home or is that a true reflection of the risk? I guess it's more likely to get stolen from a hospital car park at 3am.
Would I be better off doing it through a broker?

What are the questions? All you need to do is answer them honestly.
As a guess I'd say that....it probably works out at just over 50% of the time the car is kept at home overnight.....0 -
Dude where's my Car!!
But to answer the question, it's kept wherever gives you the lowest quote0 -
I would of said the home address for overnight....what happens when it gets stolen at home at night on one of her night's off....also if she changed job location she will have to remember to tell the insurers about it and suffer the consequences of admin taxes or risk them bouncing a claim if she forgets!"Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0

I would say that the car is kept at the home address.
As long as the occupation is given as nurse or whatever the correct job-title is, you should be OK as it's normal for hospitals and health staff to operate a 24 hour service. Unlike a school teacher for example.
Also make sure that the use covers 'commuting to place of employment', and not just social, domestic, and pleasure.0
