I have starteda new thread because the last one I found was quite old.
Can you kindpeople recommend the best jewellers in Hatton Garden for 0.5 – 0.7 platinum princesscut engagement rings?
I have beenup there recently & there is so much choice that it is difficult to knowwhat places to consider. I am lookingfor a combination of quality & value for money.
Thanks

Great thanks Tulip....
Does anyone else have any other recomendations?0 -
I bought an engagement ring last week, single stone form hatton garden with a budget of £3000!! I used a wholesale diamond dealer who had been recommended to me by my brother in law. They're a small family business and the service was excellent. I then got it set in a custom designed ring (that my fianc! got to sit with the designers and draw) I'd definitely recommend doing it this way. For a start it's a really enjoyable process if you do it together and secondly you get a lot more for your money and it's exactly what you want. She got a .71 carrot princess cut. Vvs2, E, set in a fairly weighty custom platinum band for just shy of 3k. The two companies we used were
Www.diamco.co.uk
And
Www.hydeparkdesign.com
I'd highly recommend them both (you need to contact diamonco before you go. It's not a shop so you can't wander in off the street.0 -
Perhaps go in to a few, talk to them and see how you feel and most importantly what they can do on price. They are on the whole, all very friendly, professional and helpful. There are no 'cowboys' and most of the shops are owned by a handful of people. I ordered our rings from Justine jewellers but haven't had them back yet, so will reserve recommendation til then!0

GS Jewellery, a guy called Glenn, he has a workshop just off Hatton Garden, he'll guide you through choosing the right stone and hand make the ring, no retail mark up and no huge sales pitch, can't recommend him enough, his email is gs.j@btinternet.com. His name is Glenn Salmon.0

Don't know if you are still getting a ring but John Reynolds on Hatton Garden think its number 100 is wonderful. It is a husband and wife and they were unbelievably helpful in getting a diamond for my now wife's engagement ring. They had to get it imported from Canada!!! This was at my request.
If you want to cause trouble tell them you want a Canadian Polar Bear diamond that has a tiny polar bear laser cut onto the girdle.
They were so great they even gave me a Polar Bear teddy to give to my fiance.

I would go to the Diamond Shop in Hatton Garden, you're actually speaking to jewellers and not sales people. Also the guys are not pushy at all, I got my engagement ring AND wedding rings from them. When you go just tell them Carolyn Davis sent you, they remember me and my crazy requests. lol
