Hi All,
This is my first post in the pensions section and the reason is total ignorance on my part.
My question is how much will i receive from the goverment.
My details are as follows ....
Worked for 45 years paying my dues every week to the government.
I opted out of serps about 5 years back for a few months then was advised to opt back in which i did. So hopeful it will not affect my pension.
I receive a private pension at the moment in two parts , once three monthly (£880 before tax)and another monthly (£250 before tax) from the same company and i know this is paid for life.
as i retire next september i have not got a clue as to how much i will receive .. ie basic pension and serps(if any) .
Can anyone advise me roughly how much i will receive .
By the way i do pay tax on my private pensions at 20%
Many thanks in advance

Get a pension forecast ( https://www.gov.uk/state-pension-statement ); a minimum of 30 years will give you a full basic pension (presently £110.15) but what you will get in other pensions (graduated, SERPS, S2P) will depend on the specific contributions made. The absolute maximum of addition pension you can accrue is currently £161 per week.0

and don't forget the state pension is taxable along with the other pensions. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0
