The OR would need to see a new income & expenditure form from you, so that they can assess your needs again, eg fares, food, clothes for work etc. They need to have that whenever there is a change in your circumstances. Basically, they assess what surplus income you have after your outgoings have been deducted, & then they can take 50% of that. How much they'll take in your case will also depend on how they assessed you when you went BR - if you had a surplus of just under the £100pm threshold for an IPA, then this income could well put you in a position where you then have to pay one, & the minimum is £50pm. If however your surplus was much less eg £20 or if you had no surplus at all, then your chances of an IPA are much less. This post will give you an idea of how the IPA amounts are calculated.

As for whether it's worth you taking either of the posts, only you can decide that. I know one of my friends has just taken a job for 30hrs a week, partly because they need the money, but also because it was driving her crazy being at home with no adult company & she was worried that the longer she was out of work the harder it would be to find any - her confidence was going down every day. :( She & her partner are BR, & she knows that they'll now have to pay an IPA but she said better that than risk not feeling able & or good enough to work again. Part-time posts are a minefield though, as a few pounds either way could make a big difference, so while I would say contact them for an application pack (you've nothing to lose by doing that), I'd also say check what benefits you'd be entitled to, as if you work under a certain number of hours a week, some benefits that you might not be getting now could well top up your income & make an IPA not as unaffordable as it might have first looked. :)
