Just be honest, don't try and inflate any figures or say things you think they want to hear.0

Well we had our application today, went exactly how you said, crediy checks completed and now with the underwriters. Interestingly, they didnt ask our expenditure as they went on our percentage. They only asked our commitments etc and future plans.
As ours was done over the phone we need to go into branch for our IDs.0 -
That is outrageous, no meeting should be 3 hours, I would say a max of 1 1/2 hours, after that neither party can be concentrating fully, and you will not be retaining what you are told.
3 hours almost sounds like double-glazing sales tactics.
It's entirely possible for a RBS/Natwest mortgage appointment to take this time. The Help to Buy cases have to be done on 'advice' & with the regulatory framework the bank works within it is over cautious in terms of the questioning & information taken. A few banks seemingly got slaps on the wrist for their previous mortgage sales processes and they can't afford another.0 -
Get used to it. Come April 26th. 2014 you can expect all mortgage appointments in bank branches to take much longer as their 'process' needs to be 'advised' and much more involved.I am a Mortgage Broker

Get used to not even going into branch more like. 3 month waiting list for a weekend appointment! Not all of us can have time off in the week to visit.0 -
Just heard back from the Natwest underwriter and we've got a formal mortgage offer.
All systems go!0 -
