Succesfull with Fashion World

Am confused. I have just placed my first order with fashion world and know i have been successfull because i took next day delivery and order tracking says item waiting to be despatched from warehouse..

However, I had some trouble with fashion world form another account a few years back where I got into trouble and didn't pay the balance.

I don't know how I have been successfull this time but not complaining.

I also have a cataloguie account with studio where I have not paid anything since June but I am just in time to start paying again tomorrow. They said I was nearly defaulted.

And I am also with Jacamo where I will get uptodate with them tomorrow.

So, if I now stay uptodate with studio, jacamo and fashion world will my credit score and rating get better? I should assume so.

Really depends on what else is showing on your credit file.

Having a couple of accounts that are kept up to date/paid on time can help improve how potential lenders would view your file, but if you still have old unpaid defaults showing on your file then its still not going to look good to any mainstream lender.

  • All I can think is it was over 6 years ago so the old fashion world debt will not be on my credit file now anyway. Does that sound correct?
  • Yipee, I have definitely been accepted. my available credit is now showing as 102pds. My pending orders says 23pds.

    Fashion World are great :j

If it is more than 6years since they entered a default on your credit file then it should no longer appear.

However the company can keep this info longer, should they wish.

  • It would make more sense what Tixy has said if I have been accepted for another fashion world credit account. It must have been wiped of my credit file and fashion worlds systems. If they knew they would not have touched me with a barge pole. Plus, I don't get debt collection letters for the fashion world debt anymore either.
  • I've ignored lots of debt collection letters and in time you stop getting them because the debt comes of your credit file. I used to get debt collection letters for sky, bt, british gas. Now, i have another sky account.

So, best advice I can give.

Why start paying of debts with debt collection agencies when the debt disappears after 6 years anyway. I've had over 3,000 pds of debt just disappear so far and I would have had to pay it ALL back if it was upto the collection agencies.

There is always a risk that one or more creditor/debt collection agency may decide to take court action against a debtor who doesn't pay back.

And if a CCJ is obtained then that would be on file even after the default/account entry has dropped off (unless paid in full within a month).

That is generally how consumer credit works. You borrow money and then repay it (with interest).
