Has anyone purchased a Pebble Watch directly?

I've not bought one but their website says 'International shipments may be subject to additional taxes and import fees (VAT). Contact your local customs officials for more information.' That means you'll have to pay 20% VAT as well as the £8 Royal Mail handling fee.0
