Beauty boxes...do you subscribe?

I have been browsing on YouTube for beauty boxes like Glossybox.
When I'm viewing the reviews I've noticed so many of them are youngsters, not maturing women! Would anyone know if these boxes are sent suited to your age and skin type?
Does anyone subscribe to these boxes and are they worth it? I never seem to settle on skin care for 5 minutes and always throw so much away.
Also are there any other types of boxes that might be better value?

I too have tried searching for beauty boxes for more mature/older ladies no success. I emailed one of the big cosmetics companies to enquire if they would do a beautybox aimed at 45+ 50+ they said no plans for this.
I did read on a forum some of the young people complaining when a box contained some anti-aging product. I view the beauty boxes also on youtube. I think if many mature/older consumers of beauty/makeup products emailed about this maybe someone would start a box aimed at us. Make up counters I never visit got tired of being ignored when I shop.
One way of getting around buying full size is I try to find and buy online the so called travel sizes sets where you get a few small size products in a bag like Clinique does.0 -
what age group are you in? I am in my mid 30's , and I have subscribed to glossy box earlier in the year and found them to be quite good. Out of the 3 boxes i tried they were certainly the best.
All the companies asked me to fill in a questionnaire with likes/dislikes and also asking what your skin type is.

Hi,
I use to get Glossy box I loved it. When you first sign up they ask you questions about you so when they send things out to you, they are suited for you.
In some of the boxes you get full size things and they also give you a list of the items and where you can buy the full size products from. I think they are well worth the money and the boxes are gorgeous.

I used to get Glossy boxes. Gave them up when I tightened my belt a bit. As Len5 said they ask you questions about skin type etc at the beginning.
Sometimes I passed the things on to my daughter if I felt they were a bit young for me, ie very glam fake eye lashes! But I got some great things, some I'm still using now. One of the best things I got was an HD brow box. It was a quad with four brow powders in and a great pair of tweezers which I still use as they are really good.
Sometimes the box contained small (very small) perfume samples and I always felt a bit disappointed with those.
I miss them, but can't really justify having one monthly any more.0 -
I used to get Glossybox, but it could be a bit hit and miss. People tend to complain that some people get really good boxes and others poorer boxes. You can earn glossy dots reviewing the products in the box and you can swap them for a free box once you have enough. They are introducing a Glossybox Woman box, for older women. I've read it's due to start next month and it'll be £14 + p&p, but it will be every two months, rather than monthly.
I prefer Birchbox, to be honest - the quality of the samples are better and they actually seem to take notice of the profiles. Their customer service is spot on as well. It's £10 + p&p, but if you sign up for at least six months (£68 - £50 + p&p) you get a pretty good free gift with it:
Liz Earle Beauty Co. Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser (Full- size)
Givenchy Noir Couture Mascara (Deluxe Sample)
Molton Brown Pink Pepperpod Body Wash (Full-size)
Macadamia Deep Repair Mask (Full-size)
Twistband Hair Tie
Teapigs Peppermint and Everyday Brew Teas (2x Envelopes)
If you use someone's referral link as well, you also get I think it's £5 worth of points you can spend in their shop (you also earn points on purchase, which includes paying for your box, and doing the surveys on the products you receive).
There's a Lovelula box, which is all natural products - tends to be better I'd say for older. Any makeup items tend to be more neutral shades, but it does seem more focused on skin care. You normally get a couple of decent travel size products, or sometimes a full size, and some smaller samples. Past boxes here: http://www.lovelulabeautybox.com/view-previous-boxes/
Forgot to say, that one's £12.50 a month, which includes p&p.0 -
Don't forget to check Quidco before you buy, as several beauty boxes have cashback!

thank you for all the info. Certainly looking for a Beauty Box that can cope with maturer skin! Will certainly check out Lovelula. If I am paying for products I don't really want a collection of samples, that I can pick up if I go for a wander around John Lewis.0

Used to get both GlossyBox and Birchbox - the sizes got smaller and the items were of no use to me whatsoever (I'm a 28 year old with dry skin, I was sent toner which I cannot use, in 2 separate boxes, not to mention the weird sample sizes which are not enough for my skin).
I don't like them, glad I stopped as I can get far better by using debenhams and House of Fraser beauty counters who will give you a sample to take away.0 -
I used to get Miss Glossybox, but they've discontinued it
