Does anyone have any experience of using Nationwide got their current account?
I've been discharged for 4 years now and have a credit card and mobile contract.
Thanks

Are you asking whether it is possible to get a Nationwide current account whilst BR is still on your credit file? Sorry to ask but your question does not read right.:pB&SC No. 298

Hi boltonangel,
You could apply for a Nationwide FlexAccount current account, at worst if you are not successful they would most likely offer you their Cash Card Account, which does come with a Visa debit card, but not an Overdraft or cheque book
Running the Cash Card account within the T&C's for 6 - 8 Months, you should be able to upgrade to their full FlexAccount current account.
However if you would be looking for an overdraft £100+, this would only be available on their FlexAccount current account and not on their Cash Card account.

I hope the above helps.0 -
My current account with them was downgraded to a cashcard account when I went BR. They told me whilst the BR is on my file that they would not open a current account for anyone and to try and upgrade my account after my BR has dropped off my files, ie 6 years after my BR date. They used to let peeps keep their current account when going BR but changed their policy a few years ago.:pB&SC No. 298

Hi All,
Thanks for your replies.
I've just completed an online application and was accepted for a full account with visa debit card and cheque book. No overdraft offered but that's fine by me and I wouldn't expect to get one anyway.Lead me not into temptation, I can find the way myself.

I have just tried to upgrade my cashcard account but unfortunately it says I still cannot do this. Please keep us updated with this application

I've received a standard letter today asking me to bring ID into branch so far so good.
I wonder if it's helped that I've had a savings acc with then since just after declaring myself br.Lead me not into temptation, I can find the way myself.

Looking good
I have just logged in again and my account is now labelled as a Flex Account which according to their website is one of their current accounts. I have emailed Nationwide to see if that is actually the case, or whether it is still in fact a Cashcard account. :pB&SC No. 298
