    Hi Gardener,

    Thank you for your response,

I thought it may seem high but I will spend £160 commuting to work each month so it only leaves £60 for personal and i live outside of town. Would this be considered a viable justification?

In terms of food I followed the citizens advice chart for Food, toiletries & cleaning. Single Person (£206 approx)
    Couple (£403 approx)

Either way thank you for the critique. Is there anything I have missed that I may require? Also I know sport is not essential but I am currently part of a football team that I use for fitness, I would assume they would say I need to stop this?

    Thank you
  • Hi Flyright,

    Thank you for your advice,

I am aware things have slightly altered in terms of petrol and rent.

I can justify petrol as above with receipts but felt it may have been too short before, in terms of rent my circumstances are changes due to relationship difficulties.

One of the reasons I am trying to get all the info I can.

Your SOA should be made up using actual figures and what you are actually spending this minute.

You seem to be fitting your expenditure to suit the SOA instead of using real figures.

Try the SOA again using exactly what you earn and what you spend and what on, post it here and if there is anything left over people can tell you were you can increase or decrease the SOA to have the best possible lifestyle during BR.

I am on a similar wage with no IPA and I used real figures. Never try to trick the OR they can make it worse for you in the long run.

Also your Petrol says £220 but you claim £40 per week, thats £160 leaving £60 surplus.

    Below is my SOA:

    Hi Adpod,

    Thank you for your advice,

In terms of petrol I have put at £220 because I use £40 a week for work and have given myself £15 a week for personal use as I live outside of town and I use that much if not more a week.

I have slightly altered a few bits but may I ask how you have £350 a month for food allowance? I have taken out holiday and presents from this list and any others extras I would like and any advice to what I could increase would be helpful. Its quite difficult to work out exactly what I use for certain things like clothes as I usually do these things in batches. I also have a football season ticket that I pay £20 a month and am tied into. How would this be considered?

    Thank you

  • I don't understand, do you live with your partner?
Does she contribute to the household income?
If your rent is £900 a month and you have split the bill, I have a feeling that unless you are living in central london the OR will not aloow that amount for a single bedroom house/flat etc.

    £900? rent is £700 a month. Thats £350 each....and bills on top....

I think you are getting confused with Adpod's SOA
  • Yes sorry , what about the other questions.
  • Yes I live with my partner and that the cost of our bills.

our water and sewage is just over £30 a month and gas/electric is roughly 80pm but we have not allowed for winter yet as this is our first here.

I have halved all living bills.

My SOA was for me and my partner who was out of work.

The SOA that the OR will make you complete is less detailed I think only about 4-5 categories.

Try not to worry and be honest and if you get an IPA then it's only 3 years and a lot less hassle than paying you debts in full.
  • Hey Adpod,

    Thank you for the advice,

As im sure you are aware, the situation is a scary thing and all the info I can get helps ease my nerves.

Do you know what these categories are? do you just add together everyithng from your SOA into the categories?
