They are a regulated firm of Financial Advisers. Pension liberation fraud is a completely different issue, and not something you should have any need to worry about with an authorised firm.

Being regulated doesn't guarantee quality advice, but if the proverbial does hit the fan you have the extra layer of protection provided by the Financial Ombudsman Service and Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
I work for a financial services intermediary specialising in the at-retirement market. I am not a financial adviser, and any comments represent my opinion only and should not be construed as advice or a recommendation
  • Hi, as per the above post the 'Predators stalk your pension' campaign (which comes with a snazzy poster of a scorpion) is to warn against pension liberation, which isn't an issue that will involve Charles Derby.

Their analysis of your pensions shouldn't just cover the charges, as a high charge is not unreasonable if you are getting good investment performance (i.e. price and value are different things!). So make sure they see how your funds are doing too.

And if they do recommend a transfer to a pension with lower charges then check that their fee for advice and administration doesn't offset any gain!

    Matt :)
