Mortgage Deed?

I am using my right to buy and have received my mortgage offer from Halifax, I have instructed and solicitor and paid search fees.
I have received the mortgage deed to sign and have a witness sign also.
How long is it likely to take to complete from now? And can I exchange contracts and complete same day with it being a right to buy?
Thanks

Can be anything between a few weeks to a few months.
Typically Local Councils slow this process down...
What is the motivation for exchange and completion on same day?I am a Mortgage Broker

There is no exchange in the RTB process - the council sets the day of completion and that's it (varies wildly by Council as to what they set - I know at least a couple who only complete on one set day of the month).Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. we used the right to buy and it took us a couple of months to complete. the council seemed to drag it out. its as though they wanted as much rent before they had to sell but, hopefully yours will be much quicker:D0

Just that I read in the notes about sometimes being able to do so, the sooner the better really. If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in

Are you worried that your mortgage offer will expire?
What stage are you at with the council? Have you got your legal documents yet?
The council is not allowed to delay you. You can serve a Notice of Delay on them if they and they will have 1 month to submit the documents for the next stage.
If you are worried your mortgage offer will lapse, just serve the Notice on the council just in case.
It's called RTB6 and you can download it from DCLG website.0
