I'm not sure where to post this so feel free to move it.
My puppy is 8 months old, in the 5 months we've had him he has been continually sick and had numerous visits to the vet including a few nights at the Glasgow vet school. He is well insured so we are covered but I worry how much the premium wi increase at renewal. He currently gets 2 famotidine 20mg pills per day and we have been charged almost £1.50 per pill by our vet. Currently there is a supply problem and this prompted us to see whether we could get them in the US over the counter - turns out we can and what's more we can get 200 for $9 - but if a price difference!!!! Anyway my question is if my DH buys these next time he is in the US and brings them back here is he breaking any laws or risking getting in trouble? Famotidine is better known as Pepcid, an anti acid tablet, but is only available on prescription over here.
We have been advised he may be on these tablets for life so we do need to find an affordable source - we may not be able to afford the insurance premiums if they go up a lot.
Thanks in advance
