On 14.11.2013 I posted that I have a post Work Programme appointment on 26.11.2013 as I finish my 2 year next month.

However on my appointment on 26.11.2013 and if my personal advisor tells me I need to do 35 hours Jobsearch, what does this Include? does all these add up to 35 hours a week? as I am doing these already:

1) I look on Universal Jobmatch, Indeed, Monster, Fish4jobs and total Jobs and I apply for Jobs mostly everyday and I also look on these websites 5 days a week.

2) I keep in contact with Job agencies 3 days a week whom I am registered with.

3) Look in newspapers.

What else do you think I need to do if these don't add up to 35 hours? I am just asking this if my advisor ask me to do 35 hours :)

Any help would be great, cheers !

  • How can you measure what 35hrs job searching is? I would guess you've done more than enough.
  • You need to be proactive, everything you are doing is reactive, expecting a job to find you.

AP007 gave you some excellent advice on your one of your other threads. Please go back and study what she had said.

Print off some CV's and get walking to local business's, shops, bars, pubs, look on shop windows they may advertise on there. A local florist had an advert in their window for a delivery driver I applied for that didn't get it but these things can add up to 35 hours.
  • Maybe you should re-read all your previous posts and take in what was said.

THEN spend time actually doing job hunting, planning and assessing if the job is ok for you I.e. distance, salary etc.

You spend a lot of time on MSE asking same thing, getting same answers that are easy to find online.

I think a clock would be the right tool for this.

  • OP whilst I don't like to recommend it offer your services on a trial to employers you would like to work for (adhering to whatever rules there maybe)
Do you follow up on applications (that has worked for me in the past) even if it just comes to sending an email maybe 4/5 days after the application - most of the job sites offer contact details to do this
Only you know what adds up to the required time

You could also question your personal advisor I suppose, as to what they recommend - they should be able to tell you

Do you know someone who has a printer? Will your advisor at the job centre print some off for you?

You need to start thinking for yourself, coming up with your own solutions instead of being negative. Use your initiative.

Neither had I, but I had a copy and asked the JC to print some off for me which they did.
