Hi
Does anyone know an easy cable knit blanket pattern I've recently learned cable knitting now everyone I know has a scarf for Xmas I want to try a blanket I've looked for free knitting patterns but all I've found are American sites.
If anyone has a pattern I'd be very grateful also the best yarn or wool to use and size of needle would be helpful
I'm hooked on knitting now
Thankyou as always

Have you tried Ravelry for patterns? You have to join but it's free.If you do an advanced search you can look for free patterns .
If a pattern gives American needle sizes there are lots of charts online which will tell you the English or European size.0 -
This is for a simple baby blanket.

A bit OT but I made this:

and there are lots of similar ones online for free.
Perhaps if you started with a cushion, you could build (literally or metaphorically) to a blanket.
