Fun and quirky gift wrapping ideas?

My husband wants Steam vouchers for Christmas. Steam is an online service for buying video games, and I'm happy to get him something he wants. But vouchers are boring for unwrapping on Christmas morning, and these are especially lame - not even proper gift cards, they just come as codes printed on receipts.
I'm going to buy several small amount vouchers and wrap them in quirky ways, any ideas?
So far I have though of:
-Opening a can of fruit or soup from the bottom, emptying out the contents, washing it and glueing the bottom on so he has to open it (maybe put the can opener in his stocking)
-Hidden inside a bag of blue sugar candy (to look like the drugs from Breaking Bad - I think he's getting those DVDs from my parents)
-Inside one of those snowglobes designed to hold a photo
-Inside a matchbox, which is wrapped inside a bigger box, and so on
-Inside a fake chocolate cake (a nerdy video game reference)
Any other thoughts?

or how about blowing a balloon up and putting rolled up ticket in before tying it?:hello:0 -
you can get make your own Christmas crackers i bought a pack in wilkinsons this week for £3. Or make your own with a tube.
Get a cheap photo frame a nice quirky quote and open in case of emeregency, or nice certificate with some mushy stuff and the voucher.
I am sure there was a naughty printable about somewhere you know the type back rub.... etc you could then just slide in the voucher as a page.
You could make your own version wonka bar and have it as the golden ticket.http://apracticalwedding.com/2013/05/free-customizable-chocolate-bar-favor/0 -
perhaps you could get an old video, take out the tape & roll the paper inside.
or, someone posted this on another thread - print onto card & make your own tickets http://www.says-it.com/concertticket/0 -
Wow! Balloons, video tapes, golden tickets! These are FANTASTIC ideas you guys!
I will have to keep an eye out at the charity shop for the most boring looking VHS tape I can find.
I think I love you all.0 -
A couple of years ago I managed to get hold of a small plastic gift box that was designed to look like a lump of coal. I put this in a small red gift bag that said "You've been naughty" on it, both purchased from ebay. Sadly I've not seen the coal since, but you could maybe create your own? My brothers loved it and definitely made the boring gift of cash seem that bit more interesting!0

I love it. I bet I could make a lump of coal container out of modeling clay or something.0

Mum still croons over the memory of an LP wrapped as a globe. Her brother spent about three hours getting it exactly right & credible...0
