Hi,
Just looking to see if this is possible and what kind of prices are we looking.
We have two rooms with 2 fireplaces, both of which were boarded over before we bought the house.
We want to get a proper fire (either coal or maybe multi fuel burner) in the front room, this currently having electric fan fire effect in front.
How much would it cost to get someone out to look and see if this is possible and would this require a new chimney liner etc?
House built in 1914 and can see breast of chimney going through the house and attic.
Any knowledge greatly received.
Thanks

We had a fireplace replaced and were very pleased with the work which was done and the finished result. We also felt the price was quite reasonable. The place we used was in Portadown. Would that be of any help to you?
We also have a very good, knowledgeable sweep from Dromore whose price is £28 per chimney if that's any good to you?0 -
We had a fireplace put in a couple of years ago (house built in 1960s), it involved opening up the chimney, total cost was circa £800 for a mid-range fireplace. Went to a place at Connswater, East Belfast.0

Hi,
These folks:

are excellent and will come out and assess the suitability of opening up your chimney etc. for free (or at least they did mine for free ).
Great service and lovely to deal with.
Thanks,

Our fireplace was a bespoke job, again mid range - £900. So it seems the prices are very similar. OP should say what area so individuals can give more targeted advice.0 -
Sorry about the long time to reply, I'm in coleraine.
I most likely need someone out first of all to see if i can get fireplace opened first0 -
Coleraine fireplaces good place to go in and Maurice Phillips on the ballymena line
However a competent chimney sweep will be able to tell you if the chimney is sound and useable0 -

Hi
I'm looking for a good chimney sweep. Would it be possible to have contact details for your sweep in Dromore?
Many thanks0
