Long time, small wins

Hey guys! I've been comping in my spare time most days for almost two years now and only just got my second win - a bottle of Bulmers cider

The first win was back in June where I won a couple of tickets from Real XS to see Joe Satriani in Glasgow (just a few days after my birthday too!) which was a welcome treat for me and the Mrs as we're big fans.

Still waiting on a medium-to-big win.

More than a year and a half for my first win. Anyone have worse luck than me? :rotfl:

I read somewhere that to win on average 3 times per month, you need to enter about 400 comps a week. I suppose there are 1000's of us comping all the time, so any win is a bonus. I only enter comps for things I would like to win and have only being seriously comping for 2 months ( entered about 2000 comps) and have won a door lock from b&q, a bottle of Absolute vodka and a pair of hiking socks.

Good luck for the future Vell.

Someone on here, I can't remember who (sorry) said they averaged 1 win for every 1200 comps they enter

I have had a really good start back to comping after a 3 year break and am very very grateful for what I have won so far, but they have slowed right down now.

Congratulations on your most recent win, I hope they pick up :) xx
    Started comping again Sept 2013
    Best wins: Currys wishlist, 3 Laptop's, a PS4 and an Espresso machine • fridge freezer • £100 M&S vouchers
46 wins totalling approx £3000 since September 2013
.•* Thank you to everyone that posts competitions*•.

    that 1/1200 sounds about right.

I've imagined that most single entry comps, that aren't major promotions or effort required, get around 1000 - 1500 entries. Meaning that 1/1200 would be right about on the odds.

If you enter 40-60 a day, that would mean averaging 1 win a month. Which, in my small sample of 1, is about right.

  • I've heard 1 win per 4000 entries quoted on here
But I've only had 1 win this year - albeit a decent one, a Macbook Air - and I reckon I'll be approaching 20000 entries. Not one "small" win all year.
Whether its cos more people comping but my wins are dwindling year on year
    2025 : over 3 years without a win. Then 4 in a couple of months - 3 books and a small That’s Life prize 🎉🎉🎉

I imagine wins are a bit more thin on the ground this time of year too, eh? Saves money on Christmas presents.

That statistic cheers me up a bit though. I imagine FB and TW wins are a bit tougher though
