AOL 'Hidden' Card Charge

Do you pay your Internet Service Provider bill via recurring monthly Credit Card payment ?
I recently went into my AOL account to change my monthly payments from Credit to Debit Card.
Just by chance I noticed that they charge £1.99 per month for recurring card payments !
I've been paying this way for 10+ years without realising.
There is no charge for bank direct debit.
I have changed to DD.
Is this charge normal procedure for recurring card payments or is it just an AOL policy ? Outrageous.

They started charging about 6 or 7 years ago, so I changed to direct debit. I was only using my credit card to get the extra clubcard points, so was sad to have to change.
It's only a game

The better question would be, Who still uses AOL? :P0

My ISP charges £3/month for any method that is not DD. I paid with CC until they brought out that policy (for the cashback).
So I'd consider £1.99 cheap!0 -
