Just wanted to share this with you all, and show that you can find a job if you look hard enough :)

Good for you but think you mean interviews, it is just one more hurdle in the recruitment stage, not everyone gets the opportunity of such offer (fact according to the Jobcentre) or if the job is what they want let alone be offered it so I try not bragging

I've an interview tomorrow for a position I've never done before am 1 out of 65 applicants so agree it can be done, just hope their serious eh and I am not one of those who tailors letters/CV's!, so I feel bad, but it keeps getting pointed out it's some of the positions in the past that keeps saving me it really is and gaining me these opportunities

An interview should work both ways, people shouldn't make themselves fit - it doesn't pay, this might be bonkers and don't know about anyone else but I always get that feeling when I really want a particular job - I need to find my anorak! :o

Ok I've only been out of work less than two weeks, last job finished last Monday...but I've worked my butt off since then to find another job sending out CV's, contacting local companies, registering with agencies and networking via social media.

The result of my hard work is 4 interviews arranged today, one for tomorrow the other 3 during the coming fortnight. One of them is full time permanent, the other 3 are temp jobs, 2 just for the Xmas period and the other a 3 month fixed contract.

With any luck I'll be working again shortly, there is nothing worse for me than having no set routine to my week

    GOOD LUCK.

Its so true, I have been out of work 3 weeks, after 4 interviews in last 7 days, today I have been offered 2 jobs!! :j

You have been out of work LESS than 2 weeks and yes interviews will come since you have only been out of work a short time. I too had 3 interviews very soon after I lost my job and never got one of them.

Lets hope you get one of them as I can assure you the longer you are out of work the less likely interviews coming your way will be.

You can find a job if you look hard enough? I think you need to have a look at the real world really as there are plenty of people looking very hard for jobs and still nothing comes their way but like I say maybe if you don't get these jobs come back and tell us that you still feel this way.

    Good luck

Lets hope you are not out of work a long while then as you will lose this optimism you have.

I'm IN work a.t.m but it comes to an end next wednesday (casual/seasonal work). I have no optimism whatsoever of finding a new job. I 'may' get a call from my present employer next season for more work but apart from that it's not very promising round this way - not for an older git like me.
Still, you gotta keep smilin' :D

Good luck with the interviews Liz3yy ;)

I have given up looking, or even caring.

The smiling part does help me come to terms with the fact I don't really want an employer to answer to. Especially at 50+

Being 50+ myself I do know how you feel. I haven't given up looking and because I really do want to be working I suppose I care too. I don't mind having an employer to answer to either, but I sure won't put up with any b.s. :D
  • Not much point deleting your original post when it's already been quoted twice.

    Good luck with your interviews.
