Compensation scheme for customers of CPP
emmrecs
Apologies if this has been mentioned elsewhere but I couldn't find any relevant post.
CPP (Card Protection Plan Ltd) has been told by the FCA to compensate customers of its Card Protection and Identity Protection services for potential mis-selling. As a result of this they have devised a "scheme" which, if accepted by its users (customers), will enable those customers to reclaim for such mis-selling.
Being one of those customers I was interested to see what their proposed "scheme" entails. On the sheet sent by them called "Summary of the scheme process" the very last paragraph makes interesting reading:
"If you are entitled to and paid compensation you will have cancelled your policy...."
What? So if it was mis-sold or you overpaid or whatever, if you claim back what is rightfully yours you will by so doing cancel the policy? "Heads I win, tails you lose" comes to mind.
All customers have been invited to vote either for or against this scheme; my feeling is to vote against. What do others think?
