    Hi-just done the deed today!

Can;t add much to the great advice so far. DO take some phone advice as well though-& re: this loan just make sure that if asked it did not look like you KNEW you could not pay it back (may be say you thought a contract was coming in??-anyway-that bit's up to you).

Prison will NOT happen. In my research before I went BR bro/bru's ARE STILL QUITE RARE/NEW (I was a bit worried as I dod not pay tax/ni for a while) & the advice I was given is that it's unlikely that I would have this put on me.

Also look at debthelpuk web site-go to the 'ask the expert' bit (qualified money advisor)post your situation on there & he'll be a great help I'm sure-he really helped me!

No excess income/or excess on paper at £90 or less-means no IPA/IPO (this means you pay the Official Receiver nothing)-meaning 1 year term max-probably 6 months tops. As said earlier-get some phone advice/check out the other sites too.

    We're all here if needed!

    Oh, thank you :D

Seriously, I only have to pay the £350 odd fee Neko??? That is *amazing* and means I might just be able to get the money together sooner rather then at the end of the year - omg I can't believe how much that excited me (almost as much as finding beef mince reduced down to 39p for 500g in Waitrose - I must get a life!!).

THere is no way I took any of my debts not knowing absolutely I could pay them back - we had work that was going to bring in 45K that would have paid a hell of a lot off in one swoop, but it all went wrong when the company went bust (the company that we were meant to be doing the work for). There wasn't a written contract for this as that's not how it works in this industry, and to be honest I don't know the finer details (the name of who we were ultimately doing the work for - a lot of work again in this industry is through friends of friends and contacts you build up over the years, I guess creative industries of little pay generally just aren't as contract/business minded as much of the rest of the business world), as my OH dealt with all that. I also had a bit of a nervous breakdown which means I don't remember a hell of a lot other than being on autopilot for quite a while, but as we were homeless and couldn't register with a GP I didn't get diagnosed/treated by anyone, so sure that will add to the 'bad person' list for the OR.

Am generally getting more and more relieved about it all though tbh, thanks to you very helpful people not cursing me and sending me straight to hell. Hope the OR is as thoughtful and doesn't shout too much.

    Many many thanks once again

    PP :D
