It annoys me that Morrisons petrol stations only sell Bernard Matthews sandwiches at their petrol stations-Why?
There is obviously some arrangement, but I find it strange that Morrisons would choose to sell a rivals product rather than their own!
Anyway, I'm not paying for thiese overpriced sandwiches, so Morrisons are losing out!

Stock for the PFS could well be supplied by a 3rd party, separate to the store. Not unusual. Like a franchise.Who or what was I before you came in to my life
I am not sure0 -

But the strange thing is that Morrisons own brands feature heavily in their petrol stations. They even sell their own brand soft drinks (at supermarket prices) in the fridge, whereas every other supermarket has an exclusivity deal with Coca-Cola and Lucozade in its petrol stations.
The case of the Bernard Matthews sandwiches is a strange anomaly, as Morrisons has always been very keen on pushing sales of its own brand ahead of big brands because they make the majority of their own food in Morrisons-owned factories, unlike the other big 3 supermarkets.
The own brand sandwiches are one such item which Morrisons makes itself, and even owns the bakery (Rathbones) which makes the bread.
It's a conundrum, and I share the OP's puzzlement.0 -

Now, which would you prefer - Bernard Matthews sandwiches or chicken Kiev hyper-nuked in an old microwave ? (Having been to Russia, I can vouch for this).0 -
If you're worried about being ripped off why are you buying pre-packed sandwiches in the first-place?Only when the last tree has died
and the last river has been poisoned
and the last fish has been caught
will we realise we cannot eat money0 -
Perhaps the BM ones have more preservatives in them so they do't go out of date as quick0
