Rafflecopter - just wondering...

I have just started to do rafflecopter comps and was just wondering how the end result (ie the winner) is chosen. Is it like a number generator, or does the blog owner etc get to choose who they want to win from the comments made on their blog? I have noticed that a couple have closed that I was entering in and they haven't put any winners names up. I have joined in some great blogs, so don't feel that I am wasting my time but am curious. Depends, If the winner is shown within the rafflecopter form I think it should be a proper random selection - if the winner is only named outside the rafflecopter form they can have been chosen however the person running the comp wanted to do it.0

I run Rafflecopter competitions on my blog.
The draw is random but if, after verification, someone hasn't followed one of the steps when they said they have, the blogger can re-draw another winner and can keep re-drawing until a winner is chosen who has entered properly.

Thank you for that, good to know. I try and do everything required, so I am pleased to see that it all helps. I am enjoying reading the blogs. Very good advice, and some great receipes!

So random within the rafflecopter (although they can keep rejecting until one they want comes up but that's probably not practical if there are 1,000s of entries) but can be however they like if the winner is not posted within the rafflecopter widget thingy?0 -

If the blog has a rafflecopter then yes the system will chose a winner. If (like when someone deliberately enters incorrectly or clicked entered when they haven't) the winner has not completed the action they said they have the blogger has the option to use rafflecopter to redraw.
You can usually tell when they have done this too as it will say WINNERS and the name rather then just WINNER.
The blogger also has the option not to show the winner's name on the rafflecopter.
