Starting work and tax credits...

Hello

I am going to start a new job soon, and my partner also works full time. We will be applying for childcare costs (well partial), as its so expensive. I have looked on the calculators and it appears we will be entitled to about half of the fees, so we are going to apply.

When I ring to inform them I am now in work, and also that the little one is with registered childcare, how long will it take to update the payments? (on average). Also will our current payments stop until they have sorted it all out due to change of circumstances? I ask because obviously we are going to pay fees upfront and will really struggle if they are just stopped for weeks. (we have already took a loan out to pay the fees upfront)

Thanks
