Hey
I was wondering if I anyone can help, I've just moved house and on the day I was unpacking a courier rang the doorbell took a signature and handed me three packages. after he'd gone I noticed that the packages had someone elses name, my address but a different postcode. as my phone isn't installed yet I left a message for the company the parcels were from on facebook as it says their page deals with complaints etc, they told me to email which I did and they said that the parcels were meant for another address and had been sent in error and that a courier would pick them up within 4 days. that was nearly two weeks ago and no one has picked them up, I have left messages on fb and no reply. What do I do? someone on their fb page said if I have notified them and they fail to pick them up I am entitled to keep them. does anyone know if that's true? I feel bad for the person who ordered them

If the parcels are not addressed to you, then you are not allowed to keep them as they are not 'yours'
You should wait and then ring the company. Is there anyway you can get in touch with the courier.December Wins: £300 worth of board games, £500 Tesco Vouchers Best Win in 2023: £500 Tesco Vouchers0 -
If you feel like doing some sluthing, you may be able to find the rightful recipient online and contact them.
Things may go faster for package retrieval if they are complaining as well (or they could inform you that the item was already resent to them, so they're sorted)
Happened to me a couple of months ago from the other side. I ordered off of Play without realising it was to an address I haven't lived at for 5 years.
The guy who now lives at my old address looked me up online and contacted me!0 -
They're not cupcake corers are they? The company say they've sent mine 3 times now and I've never received any of themLuck is believing you’re lucky – Tennessee Williams

hey,
had an email from the company tonight after someone posted something on their fb page about being allowed to keep unsolicited parcels, they said that there was a mix up with the courier and that someone will come and pick them up in the next 14 days, I replied saying that I hope the lady they were meant for was happy to wait and could they be more specific as I may not be in and they replied saying she has already had the items replaced and no they couldn't tell me when but are sorry for the inconvenience! great cust service. Barnabysue if these are cupcake corers your cupcakes must be massive lol the boxes are nearly two foot tall. ;-) xStarting afresh - comping as much as poss!

Goods sent to a person who has not requested them. The person receiving the goods does not have to pay for them. After 6 months the goods become the property of the person who received them. If the receiving party contacts the sender and asks for the goods to be picked up (and they are not), the receiving party becomes the owner of the goods after 30 days. Before the receiving party becomes the owner they must look after the goods and not dispose of them.0
