Switching bank problem

Decided to change banks after a couple of expensive years with Lloyds. I'm currently waiting to hear back from a mis-sold premier account refund with them.
Saw the offer for First direct so applied for the account and the 7 day switch.
There was a problem with the name on the account as my middle initial wasn't on my Lloyds card, and when I applied for the account, I mistakenly said it was. Didn't think it would be a problem but apparently they couldn't switch if it wasn't changed.
I was told to ask Lloyds to change the detail on the account.
As I moved to Scotland, all Lloyds up here have been changed to TSB's so they told me to go into an RBS to change the detail. However, they said they were unable to as their systems weren't able to yet.
I informed First direct and they said they would put the switch on hold until I managed to change it. I said that was fine as I still wanted access to my Loyds account until my dispute was sorted anyway, so I was happy.
This was over a week ago, and today I've noticed the switch has gone ahead anyway and my Lloyds account has now been closed!
Will this affect my dispute with them for a packaged account refund as my account is now closed?
To top it off, I bought a coat from Next last week on my Lloyds card, but changed my mind after getting home. I took it back to the shop yesterday and the Lady refunded the money on my Lloyds card. The problem is my Lloyds account was closed by this point (without me knowing) so I'm not sure where the £65 has gone....I have a receipt saying it was refunded. Will the money eventually be redirected to my First direct account???
thanks in advance
