Not saying its there, but have any of you looked in any pound stores? many discontinued items get sold there and you may be lucky.

I've actually just started a petition to try and get Kao Brands to reintroduce this range - currently on Amazon.com there's a bottle of the Ocean Waves spray going for $189.95 plus postage so surely there's a market there

The complete range was: Cool Dip Shampoo, Smooth Sailing Conditioner, Kelp Help Masque, Sun Streaks Highlighter (with mild peroxide), Lemon Lights (natural highlighter), Gold Rush Shimmer Gel and Ocean Waves Texturising Spray.

Sheer Blondes was a seperate range which had started a couple of years prior to Beach Blondes coming out and it was universally loved by blondes and non-blondes alike.... The supply continued in America for a few years after it disappeared here in the UK, hence why eBay and Amazon have some products left. The closest match to the Ocean Waves spray which seems to be the most lamented loss is a product called Sebu Sea Salt Beauty Spray which is only available from one retailer in the USA, has no UK suppliers and comes with a hefty S&H cost (for an $8.99 bottle of hair spray) of around £40.

I know this doesn't seem to be a hugely important cause to fight for but once you've found a product you love why should you have to change? If sales dropped off it's only because they appear to have stopped actively marketing the product so surely that's not the consumer's fault?

Haven't they brought it back? It seems to be in all the shops (Boots/Superdrug/supermarkets etc) a John Frieda Blonde range that makes your hair lighter as you wear it - it's called sheer blonde now -

    Hope that helps :)

Nope - sorry! Sheer Blonde is their standard range....Beach Blonde was originally brought in as a special sumer edition and it stuck around until around 2007.

The new one in the yellow and black tube is called Sheer Blonde Go Blonder and is a lightening shampoo - the Beach Blonde stuff was a minty, anti-chlorine shampoo called Cool Dip and was available at the same time as the Sheer Blonde shampoos in a squeezy tube. It didn't lighten the hair and the whole range could be used by any shade of hair really apart from the Lemon Lights Gel which probably wouldn't've worked on anything darker than a light brown.

Sheer Blonde is the original range and they have only kept this one on. They've also got one in a purple, black and white tube which has a violet pigment for colour correction....sorry I sound obsessive now don't I?! :rotfl:

    Thanks though xx

Just wondered anyone tried the go blonder shampoo and conditioner yet.
I'm just wondering how safe it will be,don't want to find my hair rots after a couple of uses.

I'd also like to know if it works. I'm dark blonde but wouldn't mind going a wee bit lighter, but without having to use hair dye.

    Thanks anyone who can help.
