  • They do this 50% mullarkey every year, and I still wouldn't pay £35 for that tat, most is lower quality than Aldi thesedays (see Good Housekkeeping Xmas 2013 taste test)
I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing! ;)
    Quidco and Topcashback, £4,569
    Shopandscan, £2,840
    Tesco Double The Difference, £2,700
    Thomson EU261/04 Claim, £1,700
    British Airways EU261/04 Claim, EUR1200

Aldi is not as low quality as you are making out, as you are quoting GH they rate Aldi highly.

    "half price"

tactically overpriced just to massively reduce them to dupe naive buyers.

Thanks for posting OP but I am rather cynical about them being"half price" as well.

Half price mid december yes, but mid november?

I think it is just a marketing ploy and they are only just about worth that figure in the first place.

If you can get to a Costco just before Christmas they reduce all their hampers.

Got some last year with Champagne, wine, biscuits, chocolate, christmas pudding etc. in wicker basket with plates and cutlery for £18 each.

Not sure, think it was the week before.

They get cheaper the closer it is to christmas and how much stock is left.

Got some "stacks" last year as well. That is different size boxes filled with mince pies, chocolates etc.about 5 boxes tied up with a big ribbon for around £5 because they had loads left on Christmas Eve.
  • Got some of these on a deal last year and to be honest the
stuff in them wasn't that great so wouldn't buy them again.

Need to agree with whirlwind here...... saying that I managed to snag a £70 bhs hamper for £21 last year it wasn't to bad but nowhere near the RRP of £70....... even £35 is still a bit dear for what you get the only thing that made it worthwhile was the big basket it came in.......... just my opinion offcourse
LOVE isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live WITHOUT

Any price ending in a 7 i.e. £9.97 is a reduction, then they usually go down further and end in 77 i.e. £9.77 (+ vat of course.)

Must admit our one has a new manager and the reductions are not as frequent or as big as they used to be, but there are still bargains to be had from time to time.
  • Had a quick look at the hampers today, whilst the baskets are nice IMO they are not worth the money. Unless of course they reduce them againMight be worth keeping an eye on.
