Very Cancelled my Xbox One Pre-Order

Here is the email I've sent to their Twitter Customer Service.
Hi I ordered a Day One Xbox One for launch day (Nov 22nd) back in June.

But yesterday I received an order confirmation for another Standard Xbox One Console. Surprised, I looked at my account and Very had cancelled my original order and made a new one on my behalf...
This order is not a Day One Commemorative Xbox One and would be delivered March 3rd!

I honestly can't believe this has happened. I've got games and an extra controller coming on launch day that I can't use.

The June order says "Cancellation Requested - Not yet confirmed" which suggests it can be sorted.

All I was told by customer services is it will take them a week to find out (when the console should ship) how this happened and they say it's probably someone at Very that has done this not a system error.

I would have thought you could contact the distributor and make sure it's not cancelled.

As you can see I've been waiting ages for this, there is no more Day One consoles available elsewhere and it's highly likely that I won't get a standard one elsewhere either.

I want my original order honoured.

I hope you can help in someway like contacting the distributor etc.

Any suggestions for dealing with Very? How to escalate this?
I'm going to track down a pre-order today as a back up.

  • As long as you have previous emails/screen confirming the order you can prove they should be giving you the D1 edition, unfortunately there is little you can do to force them to still give you it if they've now sold your D1 console to someone else.

    I'd be tempted to cancel the lot and get the console elsewhere, not ideal but I wouldn't want to receive games etc in a couple weeks but not get a console till March!

    Personally I wouldn't deal with Very, shoddy customer service.

    This is why you shouldn't use these kind of stores for things like this. It sounds like they have agreed to sell your D1 edition to someone else.
  • I will certainly not use them again, but they have sorted it!

    Goes to show that one person will say it will take a WEEK to find out what's happened. I almost did just sit and wait. But it only took their twitter team a call to the right department to get them to correct it and reorder. So they have said I will definitely get a Day 1 on 22nd Nov. Glad I acted fast and contacted almost all Very emails and Shop Direct.

    Hopefully that's the end of it :-)

  • Hi guys first post bit hope it helps same happened to me so waited for 25mins as "all operators busy" but eventually got to speak to someone what has apparently happened was that they have reduced the price by £50 I asked why the email was even sent in the first place as it will confuse a lot of people (like myself)!! I also had mentioned I pre ordered the Xbox one in June as soon as I could to avoid disappointment and then I get that a week before release ??? So never the less they come back with we are sorry for confusion and that I am still priority for day one release and I got a very sheepish "sorry" ok I don't really think the guy deserved the beating I gave him on the phone before he went and found out what was going on ok I'm rattling on now so back to point if you preordered and got this email not to panic they had to amend your account and change it over and if you were quoted 22nd nov it should be here around that date ok ill let then off if its a couple of days over hope it helps folks???

    Hey, as Justwilliams says you will still get it, "they had to amend your account and change it over" to a new order, but you will get the one when they originally promised.

    So don't worry, but if you want to get a free confirmation of it by not phoning ask @VeryHelpers (they contacted me after contacting Very Network Twitter) or @verynetwork

    But ultimately they will ask you to email them at: Network@VeryHQ[dot]co[dot]uk

    Send them your account number and ask why your xbox was cancelled and re-ordered.

    It's actually a £429 limited edition console with a free game...
    That and if it didn't arrive would make my 2 other games and controller purchase for £150 a useless purchase.
