mortgage, may have to buy before selling

  • Thanks all. Don't worry I wasn't going to sign anything without everything sorted and only as a last resort :-)
    Peoples suspicions are correct that it will not be possible to get a mortgage for this house (or either house separately) without either fully separating the properties (and then have two mortgages) or incorporating the two houses into one deed. Therefore I have withdrawn my offer. Vendor is going to be very lucky to find a buyer me thinks.

    Give the vendor the feedback, with the assumption if he get the deed/2 houses in to 1 sorted then you will resubmit your offer. i.e. your leaving your offer on the table so long as the legals are resolved by the vendor. This is the carrot for them to get sorted. Good Luck.

    In the mean time, keep on looking, you never know, the dream property maybe the next one you view.
