LBM day everyday

Hello all,

Id like to invite everyone in calling me an absolute idiot for managing to dig a 13k deep hole.

This has come about from a variety of reasons, buying a house and not changing my spending patterns was a biggie, gambling made things worse.

Im currently sitting at:

Loan 1: £5500 @ £160 PM
Loan 2: £1200 @ £80 PM
CC: £2800 @ £70 PM
OD: £2100 (1800 into it)

Current measures i have taken into saving money:

Stopped smoking! Got myself onto an e-cig which adds up to around about £20 per month as opposed to £200+ per month.

Deleted all of my gambling accounts online!

The house that i own is being renovated by myself and my dad. I think another couple months of labour and it will be finished and i will definatley be renting it out for 12 months to hopefully be the big step to the DFD.

I suppose ill just write up on here how im getting on, ive not worked out a debt free day just yet. I guess i need to in order to give myself a target. I cannot wait for that day though!

Wish me luck everyone and any hints and tips along the way will be appreciated.

  • Ive worked out that including my stopping smoking. I can be paying off £510 per month before i even touch the money left over once all my outgoing at paid for.

After everything is accounted per month i have around about £400 ish which covers anysort of socialising i may want to do, any issues that crop up per month aswell as paying more off my debt.

With the short term goal to get my house rented out and to live on barracks for a while. I may get around £500 per month for the house, plus a £200 per month saving on bills.

If all goes well, the new year could see me putting £1000 - £1200 per month onto the debts.
