Just wondering if anyone has been and what it is like?

We took our children when they were little to this a few times. They loved it. When we went (quite a few years ago now) you have a short train journey to Santa's grotto and there was a minature railway there to have a ride on. You then travelled back on the train and had refreshments in the buffet car. If I remember rightly the children had lovely presents not cheap rubbish. I'm sure you'll have a lovely time if you go. My children still talk about and I'm sure if they found younger children to accompany would quite happily go again lol!0

if it's just the area you want to visit rather than the train experience i'd recommend dan yr ogof for a santa visit.
1000s times better in atmosphere, experience, location and gift imo

Dan yr ogof is fab, we went two years back and loved it, not for christmas though but I expect that's also really good.
The brecon steam railway is good. A lovely train ride to Santa's grotto and then once your inside the adults are given a sherry and mince pie while your waiting. Then you see Santa. We went last year and the gifts were a pen and a ceramic money box in the shape of the steam train. Kids loved it. Wrap up really warm because by god it's cold. I had lined waterproof trousers on, leggings underneath and thick socks and I was still frozen.'There are far better things ahead Than any we leave behind '0 -
