Hey kids, long time no chat. Is anyone actually reading this? I doubt it. Oh well.
So I've been generally exhausted and a little bit !!!!ed off with work, which is typical. Hate doing early mornings when I am used to nights.
You may remember that I was gifted a fish for my birthday. Well I've always had an interest in fish and kept them when I was younger, had a huge tank and the whole shebang. Well the gift of Fred has made me really want a tank again so I think I am going to buy one (eventually), gotta save up for it.
Am off to work soon and I really don't feel like going but what can you do.
Pay goes in tonight, yay.Saving for a House Deposit $11,159.03

Payday was yesterday so I put my usual $150 & $150 into the car loan and main savings. Got hit with $68.13 interest and a $10 account fee on the loan. It's funny how no matter how much research you do and how much you think you know what you're getting yourself into, the interest is still like a really hard slap to the face.
I think I might just go ahead and use my savings to pay out the loan. That interest is just way too much.
Anyways, might as well update the current balances of both.
Main Savings = $11,159.03
Car Loan = -$6,484.01
I'll keep you guys updated re. the loan, but after seeing that interest it's definitely getting paid out.Saving for a House Deposit $11,159.03

Had a good but tiring day at work today. Finished at 8:30pm and have to start at 6:30am tomorrow. Bleugh. I call it the clo-pen (closing/opening the store). Sucks but what can you do.
Was having a good think this morning but didn't have the time to post. Have made the decision that I should just pay out the car loan using my savings. I don't think my banker will be very impressed with me but oh well. I will go to the bank next thursday or friday and make that happen. Then I will concentrate all of my efforts on savings.
I've worked out that so long as my situation stays the same as it is now (living with parents) I could probably save up $50k within 3 years, which is a pretty good amount for a house deposit. At the same time I will concentrate on getting my emergency fund to a decent amount where if I were to be moved out it would be a a safe amount to cover me if anything unexpected were to happen.
Anyway that's all for now, I need to be off to bed now as I have a very early start tomorrow.Saving for a House Deposit $11,159.03

Sorry for lack of updates for the last couple of weeks. Not a lot has changed but I just seem to be fed up with everything right now and I was trying not to think about it hence not writing in my MSE diary.
Long story short, I am SO over my job. Nothing has really changed, I have just reached a point of realisation or something. So I am officially job searching.
Have applied for a job as a Bank Teller even though it is only 22hrs per week, so that would be a bit of a pay cut. At this point I don't even care if it's less money, I don't want to spend another minute at my current workplace.
Thought that because I'm being such a whinger I should add why I am sick of my job and want a new one.
1. I suffered a small pay cut (just under $50 per week) because the moronic people at payroll apparently can't calculate anyone's pay properly. This is the 2nd time my employer has completely fudged up my pay and overpaid me. Luckily I don't have to pay anything back or the sh*t would have well and truly hit the fan.
2. After I got the most recent promotion, my bosses thought it would be a good idea that I should now do a mixture of both store opens and closes. (There is no actual reason why I would need to be doing this.) And I should especially do shifts in which I close the shop one night and have to open the next day. (Finish anywhere after 8:30pm and have to be in again at 6:30am the next day). I used to do closes only and my colleague (superior) did opens only. She still only has to opens. Totally unfair.
3. When I agreed to be put on a salary I was told that the most I would have to do is 42 hours per week. Well I'm doing at least 42 if not 45 or more. Unpaid.
4. Boss is a tyrant and despite being nice to your face treats everyone like crap, makes people work unpaid (unnecessary) overtime, makes people do awkward jobs that should actually be his responsibility, etc etc. I am lucky enough to be in a department where the work is finished and that's it, otherwise this would be happening to me as well.
5. Due to budget cuts we are so short staffed that I literally cannot do my job properly due to having to do everything. Was originally told that we would have staff cut but could call for help from another department. Well we are calling for help so much that other departments have started ignoring us. Don't blame them, they have work to do as well.
6. I've realised that the amount they pay me is no where near enough to make up for the crap that I have to put up with.
I am never one to complain about small things, I tend to let everything build up into one great big issue until I practically explode. Well I am pretty close to exploding. Colleague/friend is telling me to discuss things with my boss to try and improve things. Not gonna happen. Once I know that I am done with something (a job, person, whatever) there is no 'fixing' it for me. It may take me a week, it may take me a year, but I am leaving as soon as I find something else.Saving for a House Deposit $11,159.03

A little update on the job. Had an informal interview/chat today for the bank teller job. It sounds like I've 99% got it, they just have to go through the motions with HR and do the old reference check and all of that. Fingers crossed!
I am up late (despite having a 6:30am start tomorrow) because I can't sleep.Saving for a House Deposit $11,159.03
