As others have said, this really sounds like a play and their job is to secure as high a price as they can.
Personally I got a seperate AIP online for the exact offer value I put in and sent them that. If I'd shown the existing one that was ~15% higher I'm fairly sure they would have tried it on more. If they'd asked to see bank statements I would have refused.0 -
Far from normal practice. It might be something some agents get away with more than they should.
- Funds should not be proven until an offer is accepted
- Best for to prove funds to your own solicitor and the solicitor to confirm to the agent
As i have said.....once a price has been agreed. If the original poster is 'currently buying' the property, then I would imagine a price HAS already been agreed. therefore normal practice for the EA to need proof of funds.0 -
Which can be done via the buyer's solicitor or Mortgage Advisor..As i have said.....once a price has been agreed. If the original poster is 'currently buying' the property, then I would imagine a price HAS already been agreed. therefore normal practice for the EA to need proof of funds.
It is not normal - nor even acceptable for the EA to expect to see the buyer's personal financial information. You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0
