CSA Regulations

Can anyone point me to where I can find the regulations or Decision Makers Guides online.

I want to see the guidance on offsetting arrears as both me & my ex 'owe' arrears to each other. I was told earlier that it couldn't be done, but when I asked for the specific regulation or guidance they couldn't tell me & said They were going to contact an 'offsetting team' & would call me back.

I just want to have things clear in my mind before I talk to them again. if I can see the guidance/regs for myself I will know for sure rather than taking why they tell me

From seperate individual cases / claims, daft as it may seem, both parties have to settle their own outstanding arrears, even though one may cancel the other .
  • I spoke to them earlier & they said it is possible but only when the arrears are more than £500. I said that didn't seem fair, either ey can offset or they can't. They are going to ring me back tomorrow, so let's see what they say then.
  • Hi,
You can find all current child support law from the links on this page:http://www.dwp.gov.uk/publications/specialist-guides/law-volumes/the-law-relating-to-child-support/

I think this is the particular statutory instrument you want:http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2009/3151/contents/made
I often use a tablet to post, so sometimes my posts will have random letters inserted, or entirely the wrong word if autocorrect is trying to wind me up. Hopefully you'll still know what I mean.
