Monster.co.uk - lower salaries?

When looking at job sites I've always had the feeling that the roles on Monster were paying less when compared to the other big players (Jobsite, CW Jobs, JobServe, IT Job Board etc).
Is it just me?

Yes it is you. How can you compare the whole of Monster to other jobsites. The others you mention are IT whereas Monster is everything. So likely more specialised IT roles in the other job sites you mention. But in general I really dont get your point.0

Jobserve and Jobsite are not just IT at all but OP no Monster doesn't not have lower salaries that other sites. It must be jus the roles you are looking at, maybe?directdebiter wrote: »Yes it is you. Looking at the list of sites, the OP is looking at IT roles and I completely agree. When I'm out of contract I'll look at Jobsite, Jobserve, CW Jobs, IT Job board, Totaljobs, but never bother with Monster. Whenever I have looked all the jobs are offering a lot less than comparable jobs on other sites.0

Like for like of course, same search criteria.Jobserve and Jobsite are not just IT at all but OP no Monster doesn't not have lower salaries that other sites. It must be jus the roles you are looking at, maybe?
I quickly browsed through about 250 adverts yesterday and there are quite a few specialised IT roles (DBA, web development) that offer £16,000 - £18,000. Outside of London granted but you don't see that kind of salaries on other IT focused sites.scheming_gypsy wrote: »Looking at the list of sites, the OP is looking at IT roles and I completely agree. I know how the free market works...So you think its the site or the employer? What is it you are saying?

Monster seems to attract job adverts that have lower salaries quoted, that's my observation.
Or maybe it is more junior roles. I expressed an interest in a role there this morning and the agent got back to me saying that he actually wanted to discuss a more senior position than advertised after looking at my CV.0 -
