Lol we need to start a MFW ccj support group. It is so frustrating not having access to decent financial services and rates. I need to double check the dates on mine. Maybe it was 4 years since issued which would be nice.
I have the same thing with fraud on credit file. At least it's one less thing to worry about0 -
I've had an email to say that my Noddle account has just been updated and there are no CCJ's on there anymore. I know the credit numbers don't mean anything to other companies, but it has gone from 1/5 to 3/5 so that CCJ has made a difference to me on that rating.
So now I need to work out how to protect myself. Once I get an answer from Santander I'm going to apply for a LUMA card for the 4% cashback on petrol and groceries and then I'll put a hold on my credit so that no one can apply for anything. The past 6 years have stopped me being able to apply for credit and now I have no wish to.
My weekend was fantastic. It wasn't expensive and I had a great time. I did go shopping and bought things I shouldn't like a really thick and very soft dressing gown and some fluffy slipper boots but I should get my money back for those based on not needing the heating on during the week when I get in from work. I also bought a £1 pair of spare glasses! Brilliant!
Then there's the spending on not so important things like a Christmas tea light holder that was £6 but I think that was my only waste really. I love it though so I'm still happy I bought it. I forgot the Boots voucher too! So paid out on a half price Nivea deodrant and some antibacterial hand wipes.
But the weekend was so much fun. Lots of talking and putting the world right which has helped me get my head around looking for another job. This job I currently have is incredibly toxic and makes me miserable. I'm stuck in rut as it pays well and means I can work just 3 days a week, but it could still be at too high a price on my state of mind. I'm naturally a really cheerful and bright person, but that disappears when I have to deal with the stuff at work on a constant basis.
So when I returned I also got working on my web host changes and found a good enough youtube tutorial to work out how to do it quickly and in a way that now makes more sense to me. I have 2 more weeks to move my main site over but I'll do that last as I want to make mistakes with the not so important domains I have.
I can't believe we're now in our last week of November. I'm really excited about getting my Christmas decorations up this week!
Ooh, and I lost just over 1lb on Friday! Yay!!!
I hope everyone is doing well and CCJ comfortable!0 -
Wow, has a week gone since I last updated? Where did that time fly to?
I got a positive response from Santander so the bits and pieces they need to send are slowly arriving. I'm so happy to have that account now as I can really get things organised and get cashback!
Yesterday I had a trip around London on my photography course. It wasn't exactly what I expected as we were spoken to as though we want to become professional photographers but I did still learn things and now need to keep practicing as I did find a few things quite confusing. I've also been taking photos on my walk into work and uploading those to Instagram so I'm getting more confident at just randomly taking pictures while wandering around on my own.
Well it was payday on Friday and my app is all updated again so I can keep track of what's in and what's out. I have been a little bad though. The Black Friday event on Amazon had an item on there I've been wanting for a while for almost half price, so I bought it! I'm still feeling pretty guilty about that, but I'll see how I feel when it arrives.
I think that's it for the week. I've got to do shorter updates more often I think!0 -
I've been looking at properties again and getting all excited at some I've seen and then realised that in the last 2 months I'm still no closer to my plans. Not even by a step! So I need more focus.
My biggest time and money waster is my Cable subscription so, as my TV licence is due for renewal in January I've decided to cancel all of my cable packages except the Broadband, which I'll downgrade. That way I should free up some time to be more productive and save lots of money in the process. I'll give them a ring tomorrow. If that all goes as planned I'll cancel my TV Licence DD too. I've read up on what a licence is for and, to be honest, I've probably not really needed one in quite some time. But now I know exactly what's what so it'll all be done properly, even radio stations etc.
I also need to start moving things to my Santander account for the cashback so I've created a new spreadsheet with the bill account information and am happy I've got everything organised. I have also been through my current account and tidied that up a bit.
The New Year will certainly bring in a new attitude for me and I should also lose the pay day mentality I currently have as I've rearranged my money in a way that I will have a daily allowance but I'll also set up a little jar system to put money by for unexpected extras and things like hair treatments etc. I don't want to live like I've got no money but I want to eliminate the wastefulness.
All in all I'm feeling really positive about the new steps and challenges for next year. So this month is all about making sure it's all organised and good to go.
I've been told we can expect snow this weekend? If we do I hope it doesn't settle! Although the exercise of clearing my drive is a great workout!0 -
Hi Wish List! Welcome
I find looking at property quite addictive and can spend ages on right move just browsing and picking out houses.
Glad you treated yourself on the Black Friday deals - we all need a little spend now and then0 -
Hi Beckyy,
I've been looking at more properties recently and it really is addictive. I can't make a decision on where exactly I'd like to go so am going to do some viewings in January so I can see these places up close and make a more informed decision.0 -
Well good news on the cable front. They said it's fine to go down to just the broadband but they've quoted me a higher price for that than the standard online rate they're offering. I don't mean the cheap price they offer for the first 3-6 months either! So I'll be calling the retention department about that.
I've also cancelled my TV licence which was due out the day that I've organised my cable disconnection (I've had to give 30 days notice) so that's worked out well.
Work this week was particularly rough now my boss is back so I'm now looking at where else I can reduce my outgoings in the hope I can find something else to cover those expenses instead. I also need to find out if there is such a thing as a Mortgage settlement figure if paid up early too so I'll call them on Monday.
I'm also thinking of calling my network provider and seeing if I can negotiate a discount there too. If they do it's a bonus and every penny will help my new found motivation and attitude.
Oh, I've also had my bank card frozen as I had a call from the fraud department yesterday telling me that my card details have been obtained fraudulently. She read out the last 5 transactions and they're all mine, plus I keep an eye on my banking phone app to see what's in and out so hopefully they caught it all in time. It's inconvenient having no card and may take until late next week to arrive, but in the grand scheme of things I don't really mind that as opposed to the problems I could have had. I'll keep an eye on my internet banking and make sure nothing untoward goes on there.
I've got the next 3 days to myself so I need to make them productive. I've got lots of online work to be getting on with and I think that's my priority.
Well, the weekend is here so let's get this started!0 -
Hi wish list, just wanted to pop in and say welcome and wish you the best of luck with the new diaryMFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁0

Thanks Newgirly. I do love the support that's given on diaries.0

My new bank card arrived yesterday which is pretty impressive. I've been logging on to my account each day to make sure nothing untoward is going on since the bank fraud section called. I need to keep an eye on Noddle now and may join a 30 day experian, just to be extra sure.
I've activated my new card and set up my phone app banking so that's all sorted. I've also submitted £1 to my new Santander account to make sure I've written the details correctly. If that's all correct I can create my standing order.
I've had a small spendy day today as I went to a craft place and bought a few items. I'm actually going to make something and see how it sells so may get my money back, but it was still unplanned spends. It was just £16 though so not beating myself up about it.
Today I still have to move the rest of my domains to my new host and then tomorrow I'll get working on recreating my main site. Then that's the important stuff done.
I've dropped the ball on exercise and good eating though, so plan to step that up a few gears from tomorrow! Oh I still love that I don't work Mondays!
I hope everyone is having a great weekend.0
