  • Thank you for all the replies so far, we are considering the options but have booked a tour of the Scottish Parliamnet building for monday afternoon. Poppys will be packed for visit to castle and we would love to visit the Royal yacht, so deal advice welcomed and please if you see any offers for reduced or added value to an admission fee, tours, meals and cinema could you please post them, we are not going until the 25th.

Do you know does the theatre staging the Lion KIng sell any last minute tickets on the day at reduced cost or is there a site that they are available on. The Grand Opera House in Belfast will release last minute ticket 2 hours before performance starts at a great moneysaving price of £10 each, and tours etc can be bought through Groupon type sites at reduced cost.
And all you Moneysavers in Scotland, come to Belfast, a warm moneysaving great value break awaits you.

I have been surprised at how little your local forum is used for sharing local info and advice compared to the NI one.
  • Found this link with free tickets to Castles and gardens including Edinburgh castle, unfortunatly its only for Sat 30th Nov which is St Andrews day.

    Might help someone :-)

I would also recommend Camera Obscura

You can also do whisky distillery tours, but they are a bit out of the city

Ah but the Whisky Heritage Centre is up the High Street, right next to the castle esplanade - unless they've moved it?

I always think you should do a visit to the Royal Yacht Britannia too - fascinating and that takes you down to the den of iniquity which is Leith. Some fabulous pubs down there.

Good tip. Go to any pub of hotel and pick up a free "Gig Guide". It'll tell you where are the clubs and pubs with live music are.
