hi there im hoping someone can give me some advice, ive stupidly got 2 default notices on my experian credit file but both are now stating default but 'satisfied'.Does anyone know if you can get the 'default' removed and just have it stating 'satisfied'? as i know it can stay defaulted on your file for 6 years.:cry::cry:

AFAIK the only people that could remove a default from your credit file is the company that put it there in the first place. The likelihood of that is very very remote.

It will stay on your file for 6 years from the date of default.

You should probably post this on the DFW Board. You should get more response/advice there.
  • Hello,

I thought u could go to your local court and they will issue you with a form to clear defaults once they have been satisfied.
Might be worth giving them a quick call.

You can get a certificate of satisfaction but it will still show on your credit file as a default - satisfied, for 6 years, UNLESS it was issued as an error whereby you can ask for its removal.
