Gaming headset

My son needs a new gaming headset for the PS3, preferably wireless.

Anyone got any reasonable priced recommendations?

I bought the official ps3 pulse headset for £95 from asda. It's wireless and very good quality. I'm very impressed with it so far.

I'm a big fan of Turtle Beach's XP500, though you may have to wait for a sale as they are currently around £149 (£90 refurbished) but I've seen them around the £100 mark in the past.

I'm a turtlebeach fan as well but just the x12's, I can't see there being to much of a difference between a £100 set over a £40 set?

Pretty unhelpful answer, considering it's a link to the US Amazon store and the OP asked for actual recommendations.

Reading reviews online are generally about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

The X12's are wired though aren't they?

XP500s also have DSS & bluetooth adaptor for the 360 (which obviously isn't required here but handy to have)

They are indeed which is a faff but manageable as I live on my own so no one else is liable to trip over them.

Like you say the price difference is huge, so if you not fussed about wireless they are the better option.

I'm still waiting to hear if TB will releasing an adaptor for the Xbox One (*fingers crossed*)
