claiming tax back for uniform

just found out you can claim tax back for keeping uniform clean. the company supplied two shirts and a fleece. they remained their property

any idea of the amount i could claim back

    I think the allowance is about £80 a year, and mind that is the tax on it not the £80 itself so around about 16 per year. your tax code would be amended to take this into account for this year.

    I believe you can claim back the last 3 tax years.

    thanks - is that £80 the cost of purchasing uniform or cost of keeping it clean?

    It's usually £100 added to your tax code. That's what I got for an NHS job.
