Interim Justice Cold Call

Hi
I've recently had a cold call from Interim Justicia, they called yesterday (silent call) then the same number called today, silent again so I hung up and then found them still there when I went to make an outbound call a few minutes later blocking my line!
The lady explained who she was (debt collection and she refused to hang up!) and asked to speak Mr Jason <surname>, the surname was correct but no one lives here with that first name, or even in the family elsewhere. She then wanted to know who I was, and the first line of the address. I said she must have that and I wasn't going to give those details to someone who had cold called me. She didn't believe Jason wasn't here and kept asking to speak to him, I kept insisting there was no one here of that name. Eventually she said she would just send someone round, I'm assuming she meant baliffs.
We've had nothing posted through the door addressed to Jason and we have no debts ourselves. I've checked my credit record on Equifax and nothing appears on there.
I'm guessing they have no idea where this person is and as we have a rare surname just have an automated system going through the phone book and calling all those of that name in the hope of finding them. Should I be worried?
Regards
Phil

No, in the unlikely event any mail turns up addressed to Jason <surname> , return it to sender unopened, no need for a stamp.0 -
Hi
Thanks for the reply.
We will do exactly that, return anything we receive un-opened with a not know at this address.
I'm still angry that I wasn't believed and I am guilty of a debt I know absolutely nothing about that isn't even in my name.

Debt collectors like Intrum Justicia don't believe anyone, don't take it personally! They don't give a flying one at a rolling doughnut who they annoy or who they harrass when trying to find a debtor (who in some cases won't even owe any debts).
Hope you don't get bothered any more.0 -
Hi
They telephoned again today! Asking for the same person. This time I didn't admit to having the same surname and just said no one here of that name and they had a wrong number. Again the cheeky person at the other end asked for my address, and at this point they hadn't said who they were just that they were calling with a personal matter for Jason. I again refused to give them my address explaining I didn't know who they were and they said sorry and hung up, maybe they have got the message this time.
Obviously the first call where I was told "we'll send someone around then" was just an empty threat and they are going to try telephoning every day I suppose to harass me instead

If you contact BT, you can get the call barring option added to your phone. It is free for a months trial. This will enable you to bar their calls."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Hi
A bar may be the only way to stop the calls, had two more today, one silent and never connected to an operator, and a missed call from them while we were out!
Just how long would they go on doing this? Essentially this is harassment, is there someone/somewhere I can complain to about them. I'd hate to think it was my nan getting these calls everyday, but the sad fact is somebodies elderly relative is probably getting similar calls worrying them silly.

This happened to me.
Someone stole my identity and bought items off eBay using my real surname but a false first name. Shortly afterwards I started receiving letters from Interim Justicia because the eBay bills weren't paid, and they were linked to my home address. I wrote back to them and told them there was no such person. It did take me about three letters, but eventually they left me alone.
Stick with it.0 -
Hi
Well they called everyday last week.
The last call on Friday I asked why they kept calling, she looked on the system then said the last time they called they were told the person was out, which of course is rubbish as each time I have explained no one of that name lived here.
We'll wait for the letters then.

I know this is a very old post, but just wanted to let anyone that is having a similiar problem know, you are wasting your time if you are waiting for a letter. I actually do owe a small amount with this company £50, but as i am on a very low income i only have spare £10 a week in which to pay debts, so i have requested a letter from them and a phone number i can reach them on so i can pay this debt up, but everytime they refuse to give out there number or send a letter saying that they are taking my debt further as i am not paying there and then.0

Makster if you go to www.saynoto0870.com and type their name in the search box it gives you some possible geographical numbers for this company. For the record the door collection agency is a subsidiary of IJ called face2face. Although the telephone staff at IJ were rude and abusive, the f2f agent who came to my door was actually very nice, very helpful, and full of advice (which eventually led to the 'debt' they said I owed being dropped). Being calm and polite when you speak with these people can pay off, they're not used to it!
I have several letters from them giving two addresses, a correspondence address in Harlow and their registered office in Stratford-upon-Avon.
