Date of Occupation & date of purchase.
Well, we had our offer accepted in August. We exchanged a few week ago & we got the key on Friday, so not sure when an official "purchase" would be. As for date of occupation, would this be "N/A" as we don't yet occupy the house?
If the property is unoccupied then please give name of the owner.
Well, it's not yet occupied but i'm still the owner. Can't the owner own it but not yet occupy it at the same time?
I'm wondering if a phone call would be better than this form being handed in.0 -
The date of purchase (ie the date from which you took ownership of the property is the date on which you completed - is that the same day you got the keys? You might complete before picking up the keys, but it's very rare to get the keys before completion, because that's the point at which the money goes from your mortgage provider to the seller.JustAnotherSaver wrote: »Date of Occupation & date of purchase.

Date of occupation: I'd put "not yet confirmed" rather than N/A, because that makes it sound as if you're not planning to move in at all.
Of course you can own it and not yet occupy it. However there are times when that won't be the same person or entity.JustAnotherSaver wrote: »If the property is unoccupied then please give name of the owner.

Possibly, but you seem to be making more of this than it warrants.JustAnotherSaver wrote: »I'm wondering if a phone call would be better than this form being handed in.
Bottom line is, you're liable to pay CT from the date you bought the property, you've established you don't get a discount while it's empty, so just tell them who to send the bill to! (Oh, and if you haven't had your first bill within a month, phone them and chase it up, as it's your responsibility to pay and not receiving the bill isn't a good reason not to!)
BTW is there a space for giving your current address to have the bill sent to? You might want to consider where you want bills being sent initially.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Council have been back in touch with the email i sent at the weekend. They want the address, so at least that's a positive.
More than what i'm currently getting from British Gas as i can't get through to a human there!!
Currently trying the Live Chat with the water supplier.0
