I have bought a half leg of lamb without the bone in for a good price, I would like to cook it in the slow cooker. I have cooked beef and gammon in the slow cooker with a good success, but never lamb yet. Before I ruin a good peice of meat has anyone had success with cooking lamb this way? I prefer my meat slow cooked and tender.

I've done shoulder of lamb and that was beautiful. Can't see any reason why you can't do leg as well, although I think I'd put some potatoes & veg in the bottom to create some steam as leg is much leaner than shoulder. Put in some sprigs of rosemary if you have any for a bit of flavour.

Did a leg of lamb in the slow cooker recently, and it worked perfectly. Glass of wine a bit of water in the base, poke slits in the top of the leg and put in slivers of garlic, rub the whole thing with a bit of olive oil, and sprinkle with a bit of salt. Pop into the slow cooker on low over night (~5/6 hours) and it literally falls off the boneRoadkill Rebels December - £2.49
