Morning all.
I'm trying to get the kids and me to eat healthier bread but its so expensive to buy and I do enjoy cooking and baking so I thought I would try out some experimenting.
Anyway whilst looking online I came across broccoli bread and it sounds fabulous! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2307329/Plan-Bread-broccoli-bread-lowest-calorie-loaf-banker-Paul-Shackleton-leaving-JP-Morgan.html
I've looked online for a similar recipe but I'm struggling to find anything with a straight forward recipe that we old stylers would use. I don't want to use whey powders, pea protein etc... I don't really know what they are!
So any tips on making broccoli bread that looks like bread and not an omelette? I want to make a low carb one, not just a wheat flour bread with a bit of broccoli.
Thanks guys

Hi Angelina-M,
Check "coconut flour" and "low carb bread" for example.0 -
Thank you for that, i'll go check it out. Broccoli is probably on my top five favourite foods so excited by all this!0

Hope you find something suitable. I have also used almond flour.0

the bread looks like a fluffy omelette0

I have to admit that even apart from the health benefits, I do struggle to eat white bread, its just so bland! I do have a little wheat mill that i've used to make really nice wholegrain bread but I hear these low carb breads are incredibly filling and because of the low calorie count would fit nicely into my 5-2 lifestyle.0

I would question whether a low calorie, low carb vegetable 'bread' is actually healthier for children than proper wholemeal bread? Growing children's nutritional needs are different to an adult who wants to lose weight. wholemeal bread provides a lot of good stuff.[STRIKE][/STRIKE]I am a long term poster using an alter ego for debts and anything where I might mention relationship problems or ex. Ah sorry i've caused confusion. The children are 25 and almost 22! The 22 year old is on medication that is causing him to put weight on at what seems to be a daily rate! We all eat quite healthily but bread is a big issue.0

I've just threatened my partner with making some of this. The colour is ... "interesting".If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

Steve you must post any results, i'd be so interested!
My daughter has gone into hospital so i've got my Grandson for a while, any plans to bake here are on hold now..0 -
Fair enough then, Angelina, sorry for jumping to conclusions there.[STRIKE][/STRIKE]I am a long term poster using an alter ego for debts and anything where I might mention relationship problems or ex.
