Hi all,
I defaulted on a hsbc loan about a year ago, but claimed my ppi back from hsbc and used this to clear all my depts. I recently got my dream job, and am still dept free, but HSBC said I am on lock down for another year and that I wont be able to get credit, my experian report is 97% excellent. I am now looking to get a mortgage, who would recommend telling hsbc where to stick their account and whos the best bank to be with, I think HSBC are penalizing me because I claimed ppi?

No, you defaulted on a loan.
You 97% experian is 100% BS.
You could always try another bank but a default will go against you.0 -
Why are you saying my experian report is bs? I have nothing on it that is bad anymore, and I have no dept with an excellent job!0

Your default stays on file for 6 years from date of issue whether you've paid it or not. It's in your closed accounts section on your report.0

Might pay you to be up-front with potential lenders about the default, they don't seem to like finding out about it on credit check...Debt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.
