Confused as to where this leaves me!

Background.....

Got into financial difficulty over past couple of years and missed payments to BG for gas and electric (I was on maternity leave with very reduced income and asked for a payment holiday, which was refused despite NEVER missing a payment). Entered into a DRO in Jan last year and that debt was named on the DRO.

Moved in June, final bill produced in July by BG. Payment plan agreed. A month later, a letter from moorcroft appeared saying debt had been passed to them (before first payment due to BG). BG then say there is nothing they can do as debt has been passed over. I need to continue in my dealings with moorcroft.

Fast forward to last week and I get a revised final bill. When I question BG they say it is due to a request I made last week for the bill. This didn't happen. I have not had any contact with them regarding this, yet they say I phoned them and requested information. I am now, obviously, concerned that they have been speaking to someone else about my account.

Today, I get another letter saying 'final bill still not paid, please contact us if you are having problems paying'. Would I be correct in thinking that I can do away with moorcroft and deal directly with BG again?

I wonder if the new people at your old address have called BG and somehow triggered something on the account.

I would consider calling Moorcroft, as the debt is theirs now, but also write to BG saying you have not made contact them, you are still dealing with Moorcroft on this account and you are no longer at the previous address?

Advise BG you didn't contact them and you are not happy about them speaking to someone else about the account...quote data protection!
